As part of the festival theme „New Era“ and the international group exhibition „The Treshold of Noosphere“ curated by Blanca de a Torre Garcia, Com&Com is launching its new project „MAKING IDEAS“.
MAKING IDEAS is based on the assumption that there are countless people out there with a virtually endless number of unrealized ideas. The goal of this multiyear artistic nonprofit project is to find and collect these ideas and bring some of them to fruition.
MAKING IDEAS is a collaborative and participative project. The call is open to anyone, who has a creative idea but could never realize it. The goal is to make selected ideas and projects - with the help of our network - a reality.
Central media of MAKING IDEAS is a multilingual website which works at the same time as a plattform for submission, presentation, selection, documentation and promotion of the ideas.
From the pool of the arriving ideas we select regularly some interesting ideas for a closer look and visit their authors. This meetings will be shown as short videoclips on the website which will be also a basis of decisionmaking whether we realize this idea or not. The main selection criteria will be creativity, emotionality, poetry, passion, uniqueness, and sustainability, as well as feasibility.
The realized projects will be presented and discussed in the course of exhibitions, festivals, symposiums and other venues, and appear in texts, images, and video on the project website. All creators will keep the rights to their own ideas and projects.
MAKING IDEAS will be first presented at TINA-B festival in Prague in October 2009. Next presentation will be in Switzerland in January 2010 (Art Center Pasquart Biel).
